Obstetrics at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital

Two opportunities are available at PMCRH for obstetrics rotation. Dr. Lake has the traditional practice that includes the Medicaid OB clinic, deliveries and gynecology experience and Dr. Sabeena Pradhan has a female-oriented practice that is limited to gynecology. By personal preference, Dr. Pradhan only accepts female students on her service. Approval of rotations on the OB service may be limited. PMCRH performs about 450 deliveries yearly. Our C-Section rate is less than 20 percent. The OB unit is designated as a level one facility.

Ed Lake, M.D. is the chief of obstetrics and is responsible for the obstetrical experience trainees get while at PMCRH. Dr. Lake has received trainer of the year, an award given by the house staff several times. In addition to maintaining a private practice Dr. Lake is responsible for the Medicaid prenatal clinic.  Hands on opportunities for gynecologic experience is a strength of this rotation.

Dr. Yoon received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His Obstetrics and Gynecology residency was completed at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine/St. John Providence Health System in Warren, Michigan. In 2009, Dr. Yoon made medical mission trips to Bangladesh.
