The Birth Center at CHC provides family centered maternity care in a state-of-the-art labor and delivery area, including a whirlpool tub to help patients relax. The unit has a separate Post Partum area to provide the new mom and baby a place to rest and recover before going home. If a newborn requires special care, the nursery is equipped to meet those needs. CHC is also affiliated with Bronson Hospital for all infant's healthcare needs. The safety of the infants born at CHC is one of the highest priorities and new moms can rest assured that the hospital's sophisticated infant abduction system will keep their precious ones safe and protected. CHC welcomes over 400 babies every year into a comforting and safe environment. CHC's Birth Center features: Highly qualified registered nurses and physicians. A comfortable and serene atmosphere for the labor, delivery and post partum of the birth, including a private bathroom, and separate beds in each room for the fathers. Both delivery and post partum rooms have a television and a rocking chair with radios available upon request. Lactation specialists on staff Instruction that is customized for each family to teach them about breastfeeding and more. 24 hour anesthesia coverage is also available for pain control, including epidurals and intrathecals (walking epidural). Flat screen TV's in all post-partum roomsWelcome All Babies! Upon the birth of a baby, a lullaby can be heard throughout CHC to welcome the baby into the world. A laboring mom may have up to 3 visitors in her room. Post-Partum 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Visitors must be 12 years or older, unless they are a sibling of the newborn. As of July 2007, CHC's Birthing Services Unit is locked at all times. In order to enter into the unit, visitors must call the unit from the first floor.
